Wendy Coram

My works have a nostalgic feel but they are not about the past. I am interested in ambiguous narratives that have a kind of emotional authenticity rather than a literal accuracy. Art can promote simultaneous reflection on both our inner and outer worlds and can carry a language where our monsters are tamed, shadows illuminated, fears embraced and the vulnerable can become heroes. I hope the imagery and tension created in these works can allow them to be interpreted in ways where deeper or more complex issues and questions about the present can be considered.

Artman

artman has been stealthily creating contemporary drawings for over fifteen years. By stealthily, he means that he has intentionally, not sort, commercial gallery representation. Rather he has spent the last fifteen years simply getting into a sustainable artist rhythm, a balanced time period where he can draw new pictures as prolifically as possible.

Working in hospitality for eight years has enabled artman to spend four out of seven days a week producing hundreds if not thousands of finished drawings. Using a yesteryear exploration mind-set, artman likes to delve into the unknown depths of a peaceful piece of paper in an attempt to rearrange the boundaries of post-modern image creation. He's going for hit singles in art, something that makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end, like a top song or an emotional moment in a film. artman believes in low lit art parties with lights on the art and music in the air. He wants to attract you from across a crowded room to the visual treats of mysterious art-treasures. He wants to draw you in with bold colours or shimmering metallic, then hold your attention with skill and abstract narrative themes that engage, excite and delight with provocative positiveness. Basically, this drawer or pictures would like to entertain you with high concept art that shows rare glimpses from the deep field fringe of human exploration. He usually works on A2, which is 59.4 X 42 cm, sized paper. Each drawing can take up to two months to complete.

Predominantly the artist uses coloured pencils and black ink-pens. He also uses a varied range of metallic pens and HB grey lead pencils. He loves new stationary and relishes the opportunity to use the latest in high-tech, pens and pencils. artman is influenced by art history, cinema, music, TV, science, people animals and words to name a few. After years of stealth, ideally, artman would like to find a like minded gallery or patron willing to invest in his serious artistic adventures.

Andrew Pearson
Since leaving Art School in 1985, I have maintained interest in a varied art practice apart from painting, including music, writing, photography and the making of short films. Painting has been my main focus for the past few years, working prolifically to produce no less than six major solo shows as well as several smaller exhibitions and group shows, consistently enjoying commercial success. I have intentionally kept my subject matter thematically broad.Successful themes to date, have included symbols/imagery of commercialism, 'skull portraits' of "celebrities", post pop portraits of favourite icons from popular culture, abstract organic/floral imagery, cityscapes (both from the developing anddeveloped world), together with totemic wallpaper
